The Side Effects of Oppression

People can overcome an oppressive system by maintaining their own individualistic moral code in the face of an oppressive regime that seeks to numb their conscience.  By preserving conscience, people remain sensitive to violations of individualistic moral code and are empowered to face adversity that causes these violations, a sacrifice that strengthens their dedication towards their own moral code.
