DNA Erasure: The Rosalind Complex

Paper Mache, Pencils, Silver Wire, Source Text Rosalind Franklin, White sheet, Flashlight, Fishing line, 2020

Homage to Titus Kathar exploring the erasure of women in STEM.  Rungs are wrapped with paper mache documents of Rosalind Franklin’s work, rendered unreadable as her work is lost in scientific literature.  Missing rungs represent how Rosalind was also erased from the narrative of DNA, resulting in a messy, distorted shadow of the truth that we now take as gospel.
